The Seitzinger Crew completed their CCTS (Combat Crew Training School) with the 32nd CCTS at Davis-Monthan Air Field in Tucson, Arizona. They were one of the first crews transferred to the 492nd in Alamogordo, New Mexico on 5 Jan 44.

The Seitzinger Crew was split up shortly after arriving to Alamogordo. Lt Seitzinger was demoted to serve as the co-pilot for the Val Preda Crew 601. Two of his crewmen went with him. Seitzinger's three officers along with two of the NCOs were placed in the Frank Haag Crew 611. The two remaining crewmen went to the Ogden Crew 606.

After Lt Seitzinger's third combat mission with Val Preda, he was promoted back to pilot and was given command of the Kuntz Crew 616. He ( Lt Kuntz ) had fallen off his airplane's wing while he was inspecting it after a mission. His injury kept him off flying status until after the 492nd was disbanded.
